EZEIFE DROPS THE BOMB: SOUTH EAST IS READY TO BEG, CRAWL AND PROSTRATE TO NICK THE PRESIDENCY IN 2023
The South east of Nigeria, the ancestral and geographical home of Ndigbo or Igbo a speaking Nigerians, could politically speaking be termed the iron curtain. More often than not, Ndigbo believe they can always go it alone. Perhaps it’s Achilles heel is the lack of consensus amongst them.
A proud son of Ndigbo and former Gov of Anambra state, chief chukwuemeka. Ezeife, appears to have stirred the hornets nest. Speaking at the united for better Nigeria Initiative Convention at Abuja, on Saturday, Chief Ezeife confessed that the south East Region was ready to kneel down, more than that prostrate and even beg in order to get an opportunity to produce Pres Muhammadu Buhari’s successor while he admitted that the seat of President was never gifted to anybody, it was the right time, according to him, for the Igbo country to produce the next president.
The Okwadike pleaded with his brothers to swallow their pride, build consensus and bridges with other geo-political zones. Hear him again “the Igbo man does not kneel down, but this time, we are prepared to kneel down to every part of Nigeria, because we believe in this country”. The big question here is this- are we persuaded by chief Ezeife’s outcry?
I am reminded I this connection by Napoleon Bonaparte who quipped- “In politics, stupidity is not all handicapped”. We do not want the best man to rate us. The best man is always at a wedding.
