Farmland Dispute Turns Deadly in Adamawa State, Two Dead

A farmland dispute in Adamawa State has resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Emmanuel Hamma Shehu and Almond Hamma Shehu. The incident occurred in Bori, Jada Local Government Area, where the suspect, Mali Emmanuel, allegedly shot the victims during an altercation over the land.

According to the Adamawa Police Command, the suspect, a 31-year-old vigilante operative, fired a Dane gun at the two men following a heated quarrel. "During the altercation, Emmanuel used his Dane gun and shot the victims, leading to their unfortunate death," stated police spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje.

Nguroje confirmed that Mali Emmanuel has been arrested for the shooting and killing of the victims, both residents of Bori village in the Koma District of Jada LGA. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

The police spokesman added that once the investigation is complete, the suspect will be charged to court. The tragic incident highlights ongoing tensions and the potential for violence in land disputes within the region.
