Chairman Musa Faskari of Faskari Local Government Area in Katsina State has confirmed the tragic killing of two worshippers during Ramadan prayers in Mairua community. The incident occurred during Tarawih prayers on Saturday night, as armed assailants attacked the home of Alhaji Lado Mairua.

According to Faskari, the attackers demanded Alhaji Lado to follow them, but he refused, leading to his fatal shooting. A neighbor who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle witnessed the incident and was also killed. The assailants abducted Alhaji Lado's wife and 15-year-old daughter during the attack.

Expressing concern over the situation, Faskari highlighted the bandits' growing boldness, noting that attacks have become almost a daily occurrence in the area. He recounted another attack earlier that day in Malalai village, where two individuals were killed and two women were abducted. Additionally, a soldier was killed in Ruwan Godiya on the same day.

Faskari called on the Federal Government to intervene, stating that the situation is beyond the capacity of the state alone to handle. He emphasized the need for security forces to take decisive action against the bandits by invading their hideouts and eliminating their threat to restore peace and security in the region.
