On Wednesday, October 9, residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were thrown into dismay after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) raised the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N897 to N1,030 per litre. This sudden hike left many retail outlets pausing sales to recalibrate their meters in response to the new pricing.
The abrupt change caused widespread frustration, with commuters stranded at various bus stops across the city. Many expressed anger and disappointment at the federal government for allowing such a steep increase in fuel prices, deepening the strain on daily living costs.
