Federal High Court Announces 2024 Annual Vacation and Roster for Vacation Judges

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho, has announced the 2024 Annual Vacation and Roster for Vacation Judges of trial courts across the country. In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by Catherine Christopher, Assistant Director of Information and ICT, the vacation will commence on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, and end on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Justice Tsoho emphasized that the vacation, in accordance with Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, is essential for judges to enjoy a well-deserved rest and prepare for the upcoming legal year. Court sittings are set to resume on Monday, September 16, 2024.

During the vacation period, litigants can approach functional courts in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt for urgent matters. Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice Peter O. Lifu will handle urgent cases in Abuja, Justice Akintayo Aluko and Justice Isaac Dipeol in Lagos, and Justice A. T. Mohammed and Justice P. M. Ayua in Port Harcourt.
