Vice-President Kashim Shettima has announced that the Federal Government is sending additional tactical units to Maiduguri to track and apprehend those behind Wednesday’s mosque bombing in Gamboru Market, which left five dead and several injured.
In a statement on Thursday, Shettima condemned the attack as “a despicable assault on innocent citizens and the peace of the nation” and said President Bola Tinubu has ordered an immediate intensification of security operations in Borno State.
He emphasized that the government is working closely with state authorities and local security agencies to protect vulnerable communities and critical infrastructure across the North East and beyond.
