Firefighters from the Nigerian Navy, along with personnel from the Federal Fire Service, successfully extinguished a fire at UTC Shopping Plaza in Garki, Abuja. The incident, which occurred on Monday, April 15, was attributed to an electric spark, according to Navy Spokesman Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu.
The electric spark ignited a fire in one of the plaza shops, posing a threat to other shops and properties. Upon receiving the call for assistance, the Nigerian Navy Firemen joined forces with the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and the National Defence College (NDC) Fire Service to combat the flames.
Thanks to the swift action of the firefighters, the situation was brought under control, preventing further damage and loss of lives. The prompt response and coordinated efforts of the firefighting teams helped contain the fire and limit its impact on the shopping plaza and its surroundings.
