Okoi Obono-Obla, former head of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property under President Muhammadu Buhari, has accused the administration of undermining anti-corruption efforts. Speaking on the Mic On Podcast, he claimed that recovered assets, including 80 armored Mercedes Benz cars seized from a Jabi resident, were returned to the looters despite legal actions initiated.
Obono-Obla cited frustrations from within the administration, singling out former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami as obstructive. He detailed another case involving a senator linked to offshore properties worth over £200 million, where despite evidence submitted to the President and Attorney General, no action was taken.
