Four people have been slain by gunmen during a supermarket heist in Nasarawa State's Karu Local Government Area.
The Nasarawa State Police Command's spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the event to reporters, saying that the Command was notified on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. about the attack on the Wisdom grocery, in One Man Village, by four gunmen.
He noted that the assailants shot sporadically at customers, killing four persons in the process.
The victims were taken to the Mararaba Medical Center after state police commissioner Umar Nadada sent officers to the area, according to the police spokesperson.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command's Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia has also been instructed by the police commissioner to go to the scene of the incident and conduct a thorough investigation.
Recall, on New Year's Day, gunmen abducted a Local Government Chairman at Ningo village along Andaha-Akwanga Road.
Police Authorities however disclosed that the victim had been released.
