The German government announced an additional €24 million in humanitarian aid for Nigeria and other countries in the Sahel and Lake Chad regions affected by severe flooding. This latest fund aims to support communities devastated by recent flood disasters.
A statement from the German embassy in Abuja confirmed that this additional assistance brings Germany's humanitarian contribution to the region to €100 million in 2024. The aid is part of Germany’s ongoing commitment to address the growing crisis caused by floods, which have worsened the already critical food insecurity and displaced thousands of people.
