Government’s Grain Distribution to Ease Hardship and Boost Economy, Says Information Minister

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, highlighted that the distribution of grains is part of a comprehensive intervention program by the federal government to alleviate hardship and stimulate the economy for sustainable development and prosperity. This initiative aims to provide essential food items to vulnerable Nigerians and revamp the economy.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony at the Government House in Sokoto, the minister emphasized President Tinubu's concern about rising food prices. The President is committed to ensuring essential food items are available and affordable for all Nigerians. To this end, the President approved the distribution of 42,000 metric tonnes of assorted grains, including sorghum, millet, and maize, as well as 60,000 metric tonnes of rice through millers.

Acknowledging that the government's policy reforms may bring about some temporary challenges, the minister urged Nigerians to remain patient and understanding. He assured that these difficulties are temporary and the nation will soon experience abundant benefits and renewed hope. The government remains steadfast in its commitment to overcoming these challenges and achieving sustainable growth.
