As the November 16, 2024 governorship election approaches, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has boldly declared the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) "dead" in the state. Aiyedatiwa made this statement during his campaign tour through several communities in the Ese-Odo council area, including Igbobini, Kiribo, and Igbotu.
Addressing the residents, Aiyedatiwa expressed his confidence in the APC's victory, urging them to vote for the ruling party to ensure the continuation of developmental projects in the state. He emphasized that the PDP no longer holds any significant influence in Ondo State, calling on voters to avoid wasting their votes on the opposition.
In his remarks, Aiyedatiwa stated, "We have initiated many projects, and we will do more if re-elected. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention, and we will continue to ensure the state’s security."
The governor received the endorsement of local traditional rulers, including Pere Judge Ugulapelewei Jemine of Bolowou and His Imperial Majesty, Pere Z.D. Egbunu Esq, the Agadagba of Arogbo Kingdom, who praised Aiyedatiwa for his administration's commitment to development and inclusivity.
Aiyedatiwa’s campaign has drawn strong support from community leaders, religious figures, and defectors from other political parties, all of whom pledged their allegiance to the APC in the upcoming election.
