Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged unwavering support to preserve the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) prominence in the state, emphasizing loyalty, unity, and resilience as cornerstones for the party's growth.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the PDP Youth Leaders Forum to the Government House on Sunday, Governor Fubara declared his administration's dedication to safeguarding the “soul of the PDP” in Rivers State.
"We are doing our best in the state to ensure the true soul of the party is kept alive. We remain the true PDP, and we are committed to standing strong," Fubara asserted.
Acknowledging internal party challenges, he explained that some decisions might have been misinterpreted but were necessary for maintaining good governance. He also called on party members to collaborate to address internal issues and foster unity.
In his remarks, Jamilu Ali Kalshingi, Chairman of the PDP Youth Leaders Forum, commended Governor Fubara’s leadership and dedication to the party, highlighting recent legal victories affirming the election of local government chairmen and nullifying the PDP congresses.
Kalshingi emphasized the pivotal role of young leaders in the PDP's resurgence, assuring the governor of the Forum's unwavering support.
Governor Fubara pledged continued backing for initiatives aimed at promoting the party's progress and urged members to set aside differences for the collective good of the PDP and the nation.
