A Kano State High Court has upheld Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje's position as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), overturning earlier suspensions imposed on him by party leaders in his ward. The court's decision, delivered by Justice Usman Mallam Na’Abba, reversed its previous ruling affirming Ganduje's suspension.
The suspension of Ganduje, announced by some APC members in his ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, cited alleged corruption and other misconduct as grounds for their action. However, Justice Na’Abba vacated his earlier order after reviewing a motion ex parte, stating that the suspension was not valid pending further hearings.
Meanwhile, the Kano State chapter of the APC has dismissed the purported suspension of Ganduje, calling it null and void. Alhaji Zakari Sarina, the party's state secretary, stated that the suspension was invalid as it did not follow the party's constitutional procedures. He described those behind the suspension as political jobbers seeking personal gain and emphasized the party's support for Ganduje.
Sarina urged the media to be cautious in reporting such matters, emphasizing the need for accuracy and adherence to democratic principles. He highlighted the party's unity behind Ganduje, a leader who has significantly contributed to the party's growth both at the state and national levels.
