The House of Representatives has approved a N1.9 trillion budget for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Of this amount, N38.5 billion is allocated for personal expenditure, while N29.2 billion is designated for overhead costs.
The budget also includes N8.8 billion for internal capital expenditure, and a substantial N835.2 billion will be directed towards development projects. Additionally, N1 trillion is set aside for legacy projects, funded through borrowing, for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2025.

The approval came after the report from the Committee on NDDC, presented by Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, was considered and sanctioned by the House. This budget aims to address critical developmental needs and legacy projects in the Niger Delta region.
