On Thursday, the House of Representatives initiated the consideration of the Finance Committee’s report on the four tax reform bills presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The report, laid before the House on Tuesday by Committee Chairman James Abiodun Faleke (APC, Lagos), was followed by a meeting between the committee and House leadership earlier that day.

To facilitate the deliberation, the House suspended all regular agenda items, dedicating the session to the consideration of these critical bills. In a notable moment, large sacks filled with copies of the report, colloquially known as "Ghana must Go" bags, were brought into the Chamber for members to review.

Faleke, presenting the bills, urged the members to approve all the recommendations included in the report, emphasizing the importance of the reforms. The bills aim to overhaul Nigeria’s tax system, which is expected to have significant implications for the nation’s economy.
