The Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in contributing to the creation of a truly secular, progressive, and egalitarian society. In a Sallah message to Nigerian Muslims, Minority Leader Hon. Kingsley Chinda praised the resilience of the people and expressed confidence that collective efforts will lead to triumph.
The statement read, “For ourselves, our families, and constituents, we join several well-meaning Nigerians to felicitate with Muslim faithful, particularly those in Nigeria, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-Mubarak celebrations. As a caucus, we are elated and most heartily rejoice with our Muslim brethren on this auspicious occasion celebrated globally.”
The Caucus urged Muslims to embody the spirit of tolerance, forgiveness, self-sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Unto Him). They highlighted the current challenges faced by Nigerians, including poor living conditions, hunger, and insecurity, and called for continued prayers for the nation's unity and progress.

“Indeed, our people are daily faced with realities of hunger, excruciating pain, poverty, several killings, abduction, and kidnappings across the country. However, we hope and pray that this event will afford our Muslim brethren the opportunity to continue to pray for the unity, peace, and progress of our dear country, Nigeria," the statement continued.
The Caucus concluded by urging all Nigerians to remain firm and resolute in their efforts towards building a better society, expressing optimism that with resilience and God's support, the nation will overcome its challenges. “We are a resilient people and very confident that God is on our side and that we shall collectively triumph in the end. Once again, congratulations and happy Eid-Mubarak celebrations to our Muslim brethren.”
