The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, has extended his congratulations to Nigerian Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, highlighting that their sacrifices and prayers will contribute to a brighter future for the nation.
In a Sallah message issued on Thursday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Musa Krishi, Abbas expressed gratitude for God’s mercy and guidance, particularly amid Nigeria’s socio-economic, security, and political challenges.
He said, “Divine intervention, through prayers, remains a major reason for the country’s unity, peace, and stability.” The Speaker urged Muslims to continue embracing the virtues of Ramadan, including piety, selflessness, and charity, noting that “Nigerians cannot afford to reduce their prayers for a better society and nation.”

Abbas further remarked, “Alhamdulillah, we have witnessed the Holy Month of Ramadan peacefully, and today, we are bidding a farewell to one of the most critical aspects of the life of every Muslim. May Allah accept all our acts of ibadah and reward us abundantly.”
He also highlighted the concurrent observance of Lent by Christian Nigerians, describing it as “a divine arrangement for us to redouble our efforts in prayers and dedication to our Creator. It is also a reminder that we are one people united by a common good.”
The Speaker concluded by wishing Muslims joyful celebrations and prayed that God accepts their worship and prayers during the Holy Month.
