Ibom Air has strongly refuted allegations of ticket racketeering at its Port Harcourt station, describing them as unfounded and baseless. In a statement issued on Monday by the airline’s General Manager of Marketing and Communication, Aniekan Essienette, the airline emphasized its commitment to operating under strict ethical standards, ensuring transparency in its ticketing and check-in processes.
Essienette clarified that the airline’s check-in counters close 45 minutes before departure for domestic flights, in line with international standards, to ensure timely departures. She also addressed the handling of 'Go-show' passengers—those arriving without pre-booked tickets—stating that they are accommodated only if seats are available after all pre-booked and on-time passengers have been served.
The statement reiterated Ibom Air's zero-tolerance policy towards any form of corruption or racketeering among its staff. It assured the public that any attempts to breach these standards would be thoroughly investigated and sanctioned accordingly.
Ibom Air reaffirmed its dedication to providing a fair, transparent, and secure travel experience for all passengers, pledging to maintain the highest service standards in the industry.
