Imo State

The Imo State Police Command has successfully recovered stolen items worth more than N800,000 and returned them to their rightful owner. The recovery was made during a routine night patrol by operatives of the Owerri Urban Area Command along West-End road, Owerri, on April 10, 2024, at about 3:30 am.

The stolen items, which included a television set, a home theatre, and over 50 hi-target/wax hollandaise wrappers, were abandoned by suspected shop burglars who fled upon sighting the police. According to the state police public relations officer, ASP Okoye Henry, the recovered items were released to the CEO of Vivee Couture and Fabric Enterprise, whose store was burgled and looted on the same night.

The CEO expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and the Area Commander for recovering some of the stolen items and urged the public to support the police in the fight against crime. Okoye reassured that efforts are underway to arrest the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
