Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has declared five days of mourning following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash. The announcement came in an official statement issued a day after the tragic incident in East Azerbaijan province.

"I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran," stated Khamenei, expressing his sorrow over the loss of Raisi and other officials in the crash.
