Airstrikes Devastate ISWAP Strongholds

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Operation Hadin Kai umbrella, carried out precision airstrikes on ISWAP strongholds within the Timbuktu Triangle, a known strategic and challenging terrain in Borno State. The strikes dismantled key ISWAP positions and neutralized numerous terrorists, severely disrupting their operational capabilities.

In addition, targeted offensives were launched against Boko Haram factions in the Mandara Mountain range, particularly insurgents loyal to Ali Ngulde, a prominent commander. This is part of broader efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.

Military's Response

Defence Headquarters spokesman Major General Edward Buba confirmed the incident, acknowledging setbacks for the troops. While casualty figures were not provided, he assured that an inquiry had been initiated to ascertain the details of the operation.

“An inquiry has been set up to confirm the details of what transpired, after which I will provide the details in due course,” Buba stated.

The recent offensive underscores the Nigerian military’s continued resolve to combat insurgency and restore peace to the troubled region.
