Kaduna

The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Naymarie Musa as the state's acting APC Women Leader, following the suspension of Maryam Sulaiman. Sulaiman was suspended for defending the El-Rufai administration amid the controversy over the state's significant debt. Musa, who previously served as the party's Assistant Women Leader, pledged to lead an inclusive administration that would strengthen the party ahead of upcoming elections.

In a suspension notice dated March 31 and signed by the APC Chairman and Secretary of Badarawa/Malali ward, Ali Maishago and Zakkah Bassahuwa respectively, Sulaiman was suspended for actions that allegedly tarnished the governor's reputation. Musa, speaking to journalists at the party Secretariat, expressed her commitment to serving the women in the state with dedication, integrity, and passion. She emphasized her administration's focus on advancing the women's agenda and running an effective, accountable, and participatory leadership.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna APC chapter expressed support for the state House of Assembly's probe into the financial dealings, including loans obtained by the El-Rufai administration. The APC Publicity Secretary, Salisu Wusono, described the probe as a positive step. Additionally, the Kaduna State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) also endorsed the probe. NLC Chairman Ayuba Suleiman expressed the union's desire for the Assembly to investigate the unpaid severance packages of over 32,000 workers sacked by the El-Rufai administration, citing Section 20 of the Labour Act of 2004.
