A Kaduna High Court has ordered the remand of two brothers, Hamza Jibrin, 27, and Yusuf Jibrin, 24, in a correctional facility over charges of culpable homicide and armed robbery. The defendants, accused of conspiring with two others still at large, face charges related to a robbery and the death of 26-year-old Rabiu Sani on November 7 along Airport Road, Kaduna.
According to Prosecutor James Edward, the accused allegedly used machetes and other dangerous weapons during the attack, stealing Sani’s HP laptop, two cell phones, wallet containing ATM cards, and N30,000 in cash. The offense is punishable under the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act LFN, 2004.
The brothers pleaded not guilty to the charges. Defense counsel Habiba Usman requested bail, assuring the court of the defendants' good behavior. However, Justice Aisha Shagari ordered their remand and adjourned the case to December 12 for hearing.
