Terrorists struck the Dogon-noma community in Kaduna State's Kajuru Local Government Area early Saturday, marking a fresh assault in the region. This incident occurred just days after a previous attack in the Banono Angwaku community, where one person was killed, and eight women were abducted. Former local government chairman Cafra Caino confirmed the latest attack, reporting that the assailants, numbering many, began shooting indiscriminately around 5:45 am.
Caino stated, "We are yet to ascertain the number of casualties as residents fled for safety when the attackers descended on the community. The village previously suffered a major attack in 2019, resulting in the deaths of 74 individuals, and has been targeted in recent times." Kaduna's Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas have seen a surge in attacks and kidnappings in recent weeks.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, was contacted for comment but requested a text message due to being occupied with driving. As of this report, there has been no response from the police regarding the incident.
