Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has sympathised with residents of Rogo Local Government Area following a fire incident that damaged parts of the Rogo General Hospital on Thursday.
In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, the governor described the incident as “unfortunate and deeply saddening,” noting that hospitals are essential facilities that must be protected from any form of disruption.
The statement read: “His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, expresses his heartfelt sympathy to the people of Rogo over the fire incident that destroyed sections of the General Hospital. The government views this as a serious setback, especially to healthcare delivery in the area.”

Governor Yusuf has ordered an immediate assessment of the damage and instructed relevant officials to provide a detailed report promptly.
He also directed a full renovation and rehabilitation of the affected sections to ensure medical services resume as soon as possible.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare across all 44 local government areas, the governor assured residents that the damaged facility will be restored and strengthened to deliver better service.
