The Katsina State Police Command has arrested 35-year-old Sahabi Rabi’u for allegedly murdering a nursing mother and her 10-month-old baby in Sheme village, Faskari LGA.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed that Rabi’u confessed to committing the crime. He reportedly told investigators that he and an accomplice—who is currently on the run—lured the victims to the outskirts of the village, killed them, burned their bodies, and dumped them in a nearby well.

According to the police, the incident stemmed from a paternity dispute that escalated into violence. The bodies have been recovered, and efforts are ongoing to track down the second suspect.
