Lagos Residents Risk Lives to Scoop Fuel from Overturned Tanker!

 

In a risky endeavor, residents of Lagos State's Ojuelegba area risked their lives to scoop fuel from a fuel-laden tanker that overturned on Friday. Despite the dangerous nature of the situation, videos circulating on social media showed people of all ages and genders bringing various containers to collect the spilled fuel.

The incident, which created a chaotic scene, prompted concerns about safety as individuals scrambled to gather the fuel. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) posted videos of the incident, highlighting the hazardous behavior of residents.

Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities from the accident. Emergency services, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Unit, responded swiftly to manage the situation and clear the area. However, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with such actions.
