Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has pledged to vigorously defend the interests of Ondo State and drive development across all sectors. The governor, a leading contender for the gubernatorial ticket, submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form for the governorship race at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Accompanied by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the State House of Assembly Speaker Olamide Oladiji, Sen. Robert Ajayi Boroffice, and other supporters, Aiyedatiwa arrived at the party office with confidence. The primary is set to be held in Akure, the state capital, on April 20.
Governor Aiyedatiwa's decision to vie for the ticket follows calls from various segments of society and is backed by his achievements in his first three months in office. He has received endorsements from over 100 support groups across the state. He emphasized that his aspiration is rooted in the people's earnest appeals, from youths to women, men, students, artisans, civil servants, and traditional rulers, who desire his continued leadership.
Aiyedatiwa outlined his vision for the future, focusing on strategic initiatives to enhance various sectors. He promised to prioritize salary payments, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development, stressing the importance of food security and improving market access for farmers. He also commended the late governor's vision for Ondo State while aiming to set new benchmarks in governance.
