Magistrate Court Orders Mohbad’s Wife to Undergo DNA Test Notification

A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, has directed that Wunmi, the wife of the late singer Mohbad, be notified about an impending DNA test application through alternative means. This development was disclosed in a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba family's legal team, on April 17.

Joseph Aloba, Mohbad's father, filed an application through the family's legal team seeking permission to serve Wunmi by posting all court documents regarding the DNA test application to her last-known address. The statement explained that previous attempts by the sheriff to serve Wunmi the court documents had been unsuccessful.

The legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, argued that serving Wunmi at her last-known address as directed by the court would constitute proper service, ensuring she is aware of the pending suit. The Chief Magistrate granted this request, ordering that the court documents be posted at Wunmi's last known address.

The Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and has filed an application in the Family Court, requesting that Wunmi and baby Liam undergo a DNA test at a recognized laboratory in Lagos.
