The Defence Headquarters has announced a significant crackdown on criminal activities by troops of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) in June, seizing over 9 million litres of stolen crude oil, nearly 3 million litres of diesel, and over 31,000 litres of petrol. The operations also led to the killing of 2,245 terrorists, the arrest of 3,682 suspected criminals, and the rescue of 1,993 kidnap victims in the second quarter of the year.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen Edward Buba, reported these achievements on June 27 at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He detailed the recovery of 2,783 weapons, including 1,169 AK47 rifles, and a large cache of ammunition comprising over 64,000 rounds.

Maj-Gen Buba emphasized the military's commitment to dismantling terrorist capabilities and ensuring citizen safety. He assured that military operations adhere to international laws, with continuous adjustments to minimize civilian casualties and maximize operational effectiveness.
Buba reiterated the military's dedication to risking their lives to secure the nation, vowing to maintain their fighting spirit and operational stamina to protect Nigerian citizens.
