Minister Orders Investigation into Corruption Allegations in Nigerian Correctional Service

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has called for a thorough investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). He condemned any form of misconduct, describing bribery and corruption as unacceptable and warning that such acts will not be tolerated.

Tunji-Ojo emphasized the ministry’s zero-tolerance approach towards indiscipline, unprofessionalism, and corruption in all paramilitary services under its control. He assured that strict measures would be implemented to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Babatunde Alao, the minister revealed that a special investigative team led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, has been assigned to probe the allegations and produce a detailed report.

The minister assured the public that the investigation would be thorough, impartial, and transparent, with strict disciplinary actions to be taken against any personnel found guilty of corrupt practices.
