A Moscow court has fined Telegram Messenger four million rubles (approximately 41,400 U.S. dollars) for its refusal to delete content that is banned under Russian law. The court’s press service confirmed the administrative penalty, stating that Telegram was found guilty of not removing information when required to do so by law. However, the court did not disclose the specific nature of the prohibited content.

This is the second time in recent months that Telegram has faced such a penalty. In August, the platform was similarly fined four million rubles for failing to comply with content removal orders.
