Mosque Set on Fire in Kano State, Nigeria

A mosque in Laraba Abasawa, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, was set on fire by an unidentified man in the early hours of Wednesday. The incident occurred while worshippers were observing the 'Subh' prayer, leaving many injured.

According to a member of the community who spoke on condition of anonymity, the man used petrol to start the fire while about 40 people were praying inside the mosque. He then locked the mosque, trapping the worshippers inside.

It took some time for people outside to realize what was happening and rescue the victims, who were struggling to escape. At least 20 worshippers sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for treatment.
