A series of airstrikes conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have dealt a severe blow to terrorist activities in villages Chinene, Borno State, and Allawa, Niger State. The strikes, which took place on May 3, 2024, targeted terrorist hideouts and assembly points, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists and the destruction of their equipment.

In Chinene, located within the Mandara mountain area, NAF aircraft observed terrorists gathering for a possible meeting, with seven gun trucks parked nearby. Authorizing immediate action, air interdiction was carried out, effectively decimating the terrorist assembly and destroying their weapons and mobility.

Similarly, in Allawa village near Shiroro, Niger State, airstrikes were conducted following intelligence reports of terrorist activities. Terrorists had infiltrated the deserted village, prompting the NAF to scramble aircraft to engage them. The successful mission also targeted a cache of arms hidden in the Allawa Forest, further disrupting terrorist operations in the region.

The NAF's proactive measures also extended to the Niger Delta, where airstrikes were conducted north of Arugbana and Temakiri to destroy illegal refining sites. This action not only minimized the capabilities of oil thieves but also curtailed their ability to sabotage oil pipelines, enhancing security in the region.
