The naira strengthened slightly in the parallel market on Friday, trading at ₦1,455/$1, an improvement from ₦1,460/$1 on Thursday.
But in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the currency slipped, closing at ₦1,438.50/$1, compared to ₦1,437.50/$1 the previous day — a ₦1 depreciation according to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data.

With both movements, the gap between the parallel market and NFEM narrowed to ₦17.50, down from ₦22.50 on Thursday.
Across the week, the naira lost 50 kobo in the official market and ₦1 in the parallel market.
