The naira strengthened slightly in the parallel market on Thursday, appreciating to ₦1,446 per dollar from ₦1,450 recorded on Wednesday.
However, the story was different in the official market, as the naira posted its first loss for the week at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), weakening to ₦1,368 per dollar.

Figures from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the indicative exchange rate rose to ₦1,368 from ₦1,359 the previous day, representing a ₦9 depreciation.
As a result, the gap between the parallel market and the official market narrowed to ₦78 per dollar, down from ₦91 on Wednesday.
