The Nigerian naira recorded mixed performance against the United States dollar on Thursday, appreciating in the parallel market but weakening slightly in the official market.
At the parallel market, the naira strengthened to ₦1,438 per dollar, improving from ₦1,447 recorded on Wednesday.

However, at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the local currency depreciated to ₦1,355 per dollar, compared to ₦1,350 the previous day.
Figures released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the indicative exchange rate rose to ₦1,355, reflecting a ₦5 depreciation in the official window.
As a result, the gap between the parallel and official exchange rates narrowed to ₦88 per dollar, down from ₦97 recorded on Wednesday.
