NASS Unseals Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Office After Suspension

The National Assembly has unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, following the expiration of her suspension.

According to Channels Television, the office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, was reopened on Tuesday morning by the Sergeant-at-Arms in the company of security personnel.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March 2025 for six months over alleged misconduct after she protested the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20. The suspension barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate.

Although her suspension officially ended in September 2025, the lawmaker had been unable to resume due to ongoing legal issues and resistance from Senate leadership.

Last week, she formally wrote to the upper chamber notifying them of her intention to return to duties, but her request was initially rejected.

The unsealing of her office marks a step toward her full reinstatement, though it remains unclear if she will immediately resume participation in plenary activities.
