The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has begun distributing relief materials to communities affected by recent banditry attacks in Kebbi State.
In a statement released on Monday, the agency said its Director-General, Zubaida Umar, flagged off the distribution exercise for victims in Shanga, Yauri and Bunza Local Government Areas.
The ceremony took place in Birnin Kebbi and forms part of ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to affected residents. According to NEMA, the items distributed were identified following an assessment of the immediate needs of the impacted communities.

Umar expressed sympathy to the Kebbi State Government and families affected by the attacks, noting that the intervention reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
Traditional and government representatives were present at the event, including the Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, who represented the Emir of Gwandu. He commended the Federal Government and NEMA for what he described as a timely response.
