NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION OF INANITIES

Football

The Nigerian football federation, originally the Nigerian Association was founded in 1945. It organized association m in the country with the institution of the first Nigerian National football team, then known as the Red Devils, in 1949. It joined the CAF in 1959 and FIFA in 1960. On a scale of balance, one cannot justifiably take anything away from our National Soccer Outfit-the super eagles. We are currently ranked 34th in the world but 5th in Africa. There are those who insist that should have done better in the rankings. I am one of them. Truth be told, Nigerian football took a dip not because of a lack talents, but move for the chaos at the NFF. Officials there are wheeler dealers. The president of the federation Amaju Pinnick is more like a maximum ruler. He has been in the saddle since 2014, makes you think he is President for life. We have had a turnover of coaches including the light weight and they also ran. Nigerian born gaffers are in the list. They include Sunday Oliseh, who the NFF overlords could not bond. The others include Chief Onigbinde, the late duo of Stephen Keshi and Ahmodu Shuaibu who are owed, even in death. Between 1949 and this morning 72 years after, we have had 47 coaches including the German Gernot Rohr. The news is that Augustine Eguavoen is making a come back. Sacking a coach on the eve of an African Nations Cup Competition, raises more questions than answers. Eguavoen is returning to coaching a 3rd time. What experience are we counting on before re-engaging him?

The Nigerian football federation owes teething football loving Nigerians many explanations, even as it remains a federation of inanities
