Minimum Wage

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has pledged to work towards a better minimum wage following ongoing negotiations, despite initial disagreements over proposed figures. Organised labour, pushing for N250,000, faced resistance from governors who cited financial constraints.

After an emergency meeting that concluded early Thursday, NGF's acting Director of Media, Ahmed Salihu, released a communiqué outlining discussions on various national issues. The Forum reiterated commitment to engaging stakeholders for a mutually agreeable solution on the new national minimum wage.
