The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting civil authorities by completing a crucial airlift mission on 16 October 2024. This mission involved delivering essential relief materials to flood victims in Borno State, a region recently devastated by floods. The relief items, donated by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, under the Renewed Hope Initiative, were transported from Abuja to Maiduguri using a NAF C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The relief supplies, which included food items, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, will help alleviate the suffering of flood-affected communities in Maiduguri following the September 10 flood disaster. The materials were handed over to the Borno State Government for distribution after being received by senior NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI.

This mission highlights the NAF's dedication to humanitarian aid in times of crisis. In addition to airlift operations, NAF has implemented a medical outreach program and provided food for over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by the disaster. The partnership between the First Lady’s office and the NAF underscores the importance of coordinated efforts in providing relief and support to disaster-stricken areas.
