The air component of Operation Hadarin Daji in Northwest Nigeria has successfully eliminated several terrorists loyal to the notorious kingpin known as Babura. The air strikes, conducted on 27th May 2024, targeted bandits' hideouts in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, specifically around Bakai, Bakarya, and Yartsintsiya. Approximately thirty terrorists were confirmed neutralized, with Babura narrowly escaping elimination while most of his followers were not as fortunate.

Simultaneously, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted air strikes at Tumbun Fulani near Lake Chad against terrorists who had regrouped at a once-abandoned hideout. These strikes were authorized following Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions indicating a pattern consistent with terrorist relocation and logistical movements.

This location had previously been targeted by NAF aircraft on 26th and 28th September 2023, resulting in the elimination of several terrorists and destruction of their logistics and mobility assets. The return of these remnants to their once-destroyed enclave signifies the ongoing success of both air and ground troops in flushing them out of various hideouts.

Edward Gabkwet, Air Vice Marshal and Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, confirmed these operations, demonstrating the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
