Nigerian Air Force Strikes Terrorist Strongholds in Precision Night Operation

In a decisive demonstration of its air superiority, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) launched a successful precision night strike on terrorist hideouts in Chikide and Degbewa on March 16, 2025. The airstrike targeted insurgent enclaves deep within the treacherous Mandara Mountains, inflicting significant damage on the terrorists' infrastructure and crippling their operations.

Acting on intelligence gathered through Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), NAF identified key terrorist activities, including a planned high-level engagement by notorious insurgent leader Ali Ngulde and his fighters. The strike, executed under the cover of darkness, took out a key command and logistics center, with solar-powered installations and fortified structures destroyed in the attack. Large fires ignited by the strike engulfed multiple buildings, eliminating several terrorists and disrupting their plans.

The successful operation highlights the NAF’s growing capabilities in both day and night air operations, demonstrating that insurgents can no longer operate with impunity under the cover of darkness. With this latest achievement, the NAF continues its relentless efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and bring stability back to the region.
