Nigerian Army Opens Applications for DSSC 29/2026

The Nigerian Army has announced the start of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, calling on qualified Nigerians to apply for commissioning as officers.

The announcement, shared on the Nigerian Army’s official X (formerly Twitter) page on Tuesday, stated that the DSSC is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who possess relevant professional qualifications.

Successful candidates will be commissioned into specialised corps of the Nigerian Army, where their expertise will be deployed to support national defence and security operations. The available corps include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.

Applications are free and must be completed online. The recruitment portal will be open from January 7 to February 4, 2026. Applicants are advised to apply early and ensure that all required details are correctly filled in before submission.
