Nigerian U-20 center-back, Benjamin Frederick, has finalized his transfer to English Premier League side Brentford. At just 18 years old, Frederick is now a permanent member of the Bees' squad, having impressed during his loan spell with the club last summer.
A product of Moses Simon's academy, Simoiben Football Club in Kaduna State, Frederick has attracted interest from top European clubs like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and FC Porto, as reported by Soccernet.
The deal, confirmed by renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, sees Frederick signing a four-year contract with Brentford, activating an option to buy clause included in his initial loan agreement.
Frederick joins compatriot Frank Onyeka at Brentford, strengthening the Nigerian contingent within the team. Romano also noted that Frederick will initially join Brentford's B setup but has already showcased his talent in training with the first team on multiple occasions.
Expressing his excitement, Frederick stated on Brentford's official website, "Signing permanently for Brentford is a great moment for me and my family. Neil and the coaching team have been very supportive, helping me become a stronger, more confident player."
Frederick's talent was on display at the FIFA U-20 World Cup last year, where he featured in six matches for the Flying Eagles, showcasing his potential on the international stage.
