The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a generally sunny and partly cloudy weather condition across the country from Monday to Wednesday, with chances of light rain and isolated thunderstorms in some southern states.
In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet said the northern region will experience sunny skies throughout the three-day period. However, parts of Jigawa, Yobe and Borno States are expected to have a sunny and hazy atmosphere on Wednesday.
For the central region, the agency predicted mostly sunny weather with a few patches of clouds across the forecast period.
NiMet said the southern region will also record sunny conditions with patches of clouds, but with prospects of isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall, especially later in the day.
On Monday, light rains and thunderstorms are expected over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia and Osun States.

The outlook for Tuesday shows continued sunshine across the north and central regions, while the south may experience isolated thunderstorms with light rains in states such as Abia, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa during the afternoon or evening.
On Wednesday, light rainfall is also expected later in the day over parts of Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa States.
NiMet advised motorists to drive with caution during rainfall and urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective flight planning. The agency also encouraged residents to stay updated with weather information through NiMet’s official platforms.
