Nollywood Mourns: AGN Declares ‘No Shoot Day’ After Junior Pope’s Tragic Death

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced a "No Shoot Day" for all Nollywood filmmakers on Thursday, April 11, following the tragic death of actor Junior Pope and three crew members in a boat accident on the Anam River in Anambra. The incident occurred on the set of the movie "The Other Side of Life," produced by Adamma Luke.

Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, stated in a press release on Thursday that all filming activities involving riverine areas and boat riding are suspended indefinitely. Additionally, there will be no shooting on any location nationwide on April 11, 2024. The film "The Other Side of Life" is also suspended until further notice.

Furthermore, Emeka Rollas announced that no actor is permitted to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice. The AGN is continuing its search for the bodies of the remaining missing persons involved in the tragic accident.

Rollas concluded the statement by offering condolences and praying for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.
