Ogun Police Raise Alarm Over Spike in Missing Persons Cases

The Ogun State Police Command has raised concerns over a troubling increase in reports of missing individuals across all age groups. While some cases result in the safe return of the missing, a significant number remain unresolved, prompting the authorities to act swiftly to address this alarming trend.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, Police Public Relations Officer CSP Omolola Odutola disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has introduced measures to raise public awareness and enhance community safety. The command urged residents to remain vigilant and prioritize personal security to reduce the risk of abduction or disappearance.

The police advised parents against entrusting children to unfamiliar commercial transporters, citing insights gained from recent rescue operations. Youths were also encouraged to enable digital location-sharing features on their devices while traveling, especially during emergencies, to ensure timely assistance.

Residents were reminded that the control room can be contacted via 09164859299, and the Police Public Relations Department can be reached at 09159578888. The command remains accessible through its social media channels, including Twitter (@OgunPoliceNG), Instagram (@ogunpolice_ng), and Facebook (@ogunstatepolicecommand), to provide updates and receive reports.
